Create a brand

There are two ways to create a brand profile: let AI extract everything from your website, or build it by hand. Both end up in the same editable profile, so you can always adjust the result later.

Extract from a URL

If your brand has a website, this is the fastest path. SmartMailing reads the site and pulls out your visual identity and content.

  1. On the dashboard, find the Step 1 · Brand card and click Extract from URL.
  2. In the Extract brand from URL dialog, paste your website address into the Website URL field. example.com is enough; you can leave off https://.
  3. Click Extract & save.
  4. Watch the progress bar. Your job may briefly sit in a queue, then the status changes to "Analyzing website" and finally "Saving brand".

The extraction captures:

  • Colors: background, inner background, text, button, footer, and divider colors
  • Your logo and its width
  • The font family used on the site
  • Social media links, footer text, and footer links
  • Images from the page, added to your brand images gallery
  • A short description of your business, saved as the brand's AI context

The new brand is named after your domain (for example acme.com), and the source URL is stored on the profile. You can rename the brand and adjust anything else in the brand editor afterwards.

If the extraction fails, you can simply try again or use a different page of your site. Nothing is saved until the job completes.

warning

Extraction is AI-assisted and not perfect on every site. Open the brand after extraction and check that the colors, logo, and description actually match your branding before you build templates with it.

Build it manually

Prefer full control, or no website to extract from?

  1. Go to Brands in the navigation (or open /brands).
  2. Click New brand.
  3. Fill in the editor: brand name (required), logo, colors, font family, and AI context.
  4. Click Save.

You can also start a manual brand from the dashboard: click Manual on the Step 1 · Brand card. All fields are covered in detail in Edit and manage brands.

What every new brand comes with

Whichever way you create it, SmartMailing sets up starter content for the brand right away:

  • A default signature, pre-filled with your brand visuals, so the signatures workspace is never empty.
  • Hosted page templates: subscribe, "check your inbox", subscription confirmed, unsubscribe, unsubscribe confirmation, preference center, and "preferences saved" pages, each styled with your brand and available in English and German.
  • Transactional email templates: a double opt-in confirmation, a welcome email, and an unsubscribe receipt, also in English and German.

All of these are normal, editable rows. Anything you change is preserved; the seeding never overwrites your edits.

Brand limits

Your plan allows a set number of brands. When you hit the cap, the New brand button is disabled and reads Brand limit reached. Upgrade your plan to add more.
