Track, pause, and cancel a campaign
Once a campaign leaves the draft stage, its page switches from the composer to a live report. This page covers the report, the campaign statuses, and the mid-flight controls.
Campaign statuses
Every campaign shows one of these statuses in the header and on the campaign list:
- Draft: still being composed; nothing has been sent.
- Scheduled: queued for a future send time.
- Sending: shipping right now. The report auto-refreshes every 5 seconds.
- Sent: finished.
- Paused: on hold; queued recipients are waiting for you to resume.
- Cancelled: stopped for good; unsent recipients were skipped.
- Failed: the send could not complete.
Pause, resume, and cancel
The controls at the top of the report change with the status:
- While Sending or Scheduled: Pause sending and Cancel campaign. Pausing a scheduled campaign holds the schedule.
- While Paused: Resume sending and Cancel campaign.
- Sent, Cancelled, and Failed campaigns have no controls; they are final.
Each action opens a confirmation dialog. For pause and cancel you can add an optional note for the audit log.
What each action does:
- Pause: queued recipients are held until you resume. Emails already in flight finish normally, and subscribers who already received the campaign are unaffected.
- Resume: the queue starts draining again from where it stopped. Anyone who unsubscribed or was suppressed during the pause is honored and skipped.
- Cancel: unsent recipients are skipped permanently. This cannot be reversed; sends already in flight still complete.
The overview metrics
The Overview section shows the campaign's key numbers as cards:
- Recipients: the total audience.
- Sent and Delivered, with the delivery rate.
- Open rate and Click rate, with the raw open and click counts.
- Bounced, Complaints, Unsubscribed, and Failed, highlighted when they are above zero.
For an A/B campaign, an extra panel below the overview shows the per-variant results and the winner; see A/B test subjects and templates.
Top clicked links
The Top clicked links section ranks the URLs in your email by total clicks, with a bar showing each link's share. For every link you see the click count and how many unique recipients clicked it. Until anyone clicks, the section simply reports "No clicks yet."
The recipients table
The Recipients section lets you drill into exactly who got the campaign and what happened, 50 rows at a time:
- Filter by All, Sent, Failed, Skipped, or Queued.
- Each row shows the recipient's email, status, when it was sent, how many times it was opened and clicked, and an Issue column.
- The Issue column explains bounces (with the bounce type), spam complaints, and skip reasons in plain English, for example "On suppression list" or "Brand sending paused".
If any sends failed, a banner above points you to the failed rows and their reasons.
Campaign details
At the bottom, the Campaign details section records the subject, preheader, send mode, and the start and finish times of the send, so you always have a record of what went out and when.
