Create your first brand

A brand profile is the foundation for everything you send. It holds your colors, logo, fonts, footer, social links, and the context AI uses to write in your voice. Templates, signatures, and campaigns all pull from it automatically.

There are two ways to create one, both available from the Step 1 · Brand card on the dashboard.

The fastest way is to let SmartMailing read your existing website.

  1. On the dashboard, click Extract from URL on the Step 1 · Brand card.
  2. In the Extract brand from URL dialog, paste your website address into the Website URL field (for example example.com, you do not need the https:// part).
  3. Click Extract & save.
  4. Wait while the extraction runs. You will see progress updates: your job may sit in a short queue, then the status changes to "Analyzing website" and finally "Saving brand".
  5. When it finishes, the brand editor opens with your new brand so you can review and adjust everything.

The extraction pulls in:

  • Your color palette: background, text, button, divider, and footer colors
  • Your logo and its size
  • The font family used on the site
  • Social media links and footer text
  • Images from the page, added to your media gallery
  • A short description of your business that AI uses as context when writing copy

The brand is named after your domain (for example example.com becomes "example.com"). You can rename it in the brand editor.

Extraction is powered by AI, and AI can make mistakes. Always check that the extracted colors, logo, and content match your actual branding before you send anything.

Option 2: set it up manually​

If you prefer full control, or you do not have a website to extract from:

  1. On the dashboard, click Manual on the Step 1 · Brand card.
  2. The brand editor opens with a blank brand.
  3. Fill in your name, colors, logo, fonts, footer, and social links, then save.

Managing your brands​

Your brands appear in the Brand profiles panel on the dashboard, each with its color swatches and a count of the templates attached to it. Click the pencil icon on any brand to reopen the brand editor, or click View all brands to go to the full brands page. You can also start a new brand from the panel with the New button.

Once your first brand is saved, you are ready for step 2: create your first template.
