How SmartMailing works
Most email platforms start you with an empty account: build a signup form, write a confirmation email, design a template, wire up an unsubscribe page, and only then send something. SmartMailing starts from your website and builds that foundation for you.
Paste a URL, get a brand
Give SmartMailing your website address and the AI reads the site and extracts the brand: colors, logo, fonts, social links, footer details, images, and the tone of voice it will later write in. Prefer full control? Open the brand editor and set everything yourself; both paths end in the same brand profile. See Create your first brand.
A brand profile is not just a style sheet. It is the identity every other part of the platform picks up automatically: templates, signatures, hosted pages, and transactional email all render in the brand without you configuring them one by one. Agencies run many brands side by side and switch between them with the brand switcher that follows you across every page.
The moment a brand exists, the platform is already set up
This is the part that surprises people coming from other tools. Creating a brand immediately generates, in the brand's colors, logo, and language:
- The hosted pages: a subscribe page you can link from anywhere, the check-your-inbox and subscription-confirmed pages of the double opt-in flow, a preference center, and unsubscribe pages. SmartMailing hosts all of them; you never touch your own website. See the Web templates section.
- The transactional emails behind them: the double opt-in confirmation, the welcome email, and the unsubscribe receipt, ready to edit per language.
- A default email signature pre-filled with the brand's visuals.
So before you have designed anything, a visitor could already subscribe on a branded page, receive a branded confirmation email, confirm, and get a branded welcome. Everything is editable afterward; nothing SmartMailing generated ever overwrites your edits.
Turn anything into an email template
Templates are where the AI does its most visible work. When you create one, you choose a starting point:
- Convert a webpage: paste any URL, a landing page, a product page, a promo, and the AI extracts its content and design and generates a ready-to-send email version of it. This is the fastest way from "the campaign page is live" to "the email is in inboxes".
- Use a saved brand: jump straight to a template picker already styled with your brand, pick a layout, give the AI a topic, and generate.
- Build from scratch: compose by hand in the builder with AI assistance.
Inside the builder you edit components directly, chat with the AI assistant to rewrite or restructure, manage images, check a spam score, and translate the whole template into 30+ languages with per-language editing. See Create your first template.
Send with intelligence built in
A campaign takes a template, a subject line, and an audience (all subscribers of the brand, or specific lists). You can send immediately, schedule, or leave the default on: predictive send time, where SmartMailing picks the best delivery moment per recipient instead of blasting everyone at once. Subject line A/B testing runs on a test cohort and promotes the winner to the rest automatically. See Send your first campaign.
While you send, the platform quietly protects you: new domains are warmed up on an automatic volume ramp, marketing and transactional email run on separate streams and subdomains so a newsletter can never hurt a password reset, and your sender health (bounces, complaints, DMARC) is monitored against the same thresholds that gate sending. You see those numbers in Reports; nothing about your deliverability is hidden from you.
The dashboard
The dashboard's three cards (Step 1 · Brand, Step 2 · Template, Step 3 · Campaign) mirror this flow, and below them you'll find your recent brands and templates, your plan's usage meters, a quick start guide, and support.
The three steps are a first-run path, not a rule. Once a brand exists you can jump straight into templates, automations, or the transactional API; everything stays on brand automatically.
