Engagement and list health
Below the sender health score, the Overview tab covers how your emails perform, how your list is evolving, and when your audience actually reads email. Everything respects the brand and time window you picked at the top of the page.
Performance cards
The Performance section shows your headline rates for the selected window, each with the change versus the previous equal window (shown in percentage points, with an up or down arrow):
- Sent, with how many were delivered
- Delivery rate (delivered divided by sent)
- Open rate (opens divided by delivered)
- Click rate (clicks divided by delivered)
- Bounce rate (bounces divided by sent, with the hard bounce count called out)
- Complaint rate (complaints divided by sent)
For bounce and complaint rates, a falling number is good, and the delta coloring reflects that.
Trend chart
The Trend section plots daily activity across the window. Use the toggle buttons to switch views:
- Engagement: opened and clicked per day
- Volume: sent and delivered per day
- Problems: bounces and complaints per day
Days with no activity show as zero, so gaps in your sending are visible rather than hidden.
List health
The List health section looks at your subscribers rather than your sends.
Status. A donut chart breaks your list down by status: subscribed, pending confirmation (double opt-in not yet completed), unsubscribed, bounced, and complained. Under it, two numbers split your active subscribers into engaged (opened an email in the last 90 days) and dormant.
Growth. A daily chart of sign-ups versus removals across the window. If nothing changed, you see "No sign-ups or unsubscribes in this window."
Suppression list. The addresses SmartMailing protects you from emailing, broken down by reason: unsubscribed, bounced, complained, manually suppressed, expired double opt-in confirmations, and GDPR requests. These addresses are excluded from your sends automatically; the breakdown is there so you understand why your reachable audience is smaller than your raw list.
A growing dormant segment is the early warning sign for the low engagement drag on your sender health score. Re-engage or sunset subscribers who have not opened in months instead of continuing to mail them.
Best time to send
The Best time to send heatmap maps when your audience actually opens email, by day of week and hour (in UTC). Darker cells mean more opens. This is the same signal that powers predictive send time on campaigns, so you can see the data behind the scheduling decisions.
The heatmap needs open data to work. After a few sends with opens, it fills in; until then it shows "Not enough open data yet."
