Organize subscribers with lists
Lists let you segment a brand's subscribers into groups you can target when sending campaigns, for example "Newsletter readers" or "Beta customers". A subscriber can be on any number of lists, and lists never affect consent: membership only controls targeting.
The Lists section sits above the subscribers table. Each list appears as a chip with its member count. Click a chip to filter the table to that list's members; click All subscribers to clear the filter.
Create a list
- On the Subscribers page, click New list.
- Enter a Name (required), for example
Newsletter readers, and an optional description. - Click Create.
Add subscribers to a list
From the Subscribers page:
- Click the menu on a list chip and choose Add subscribers, or select the list and click the Add to "list name" button.
- In the picker, search by email or name, tick the subscribers you want, or use Select all visible. Subscribers already on the list are hidden.
- Click Add.
From a subscriber's detail page:
- In the Lists section, click Add to list.
- Pick the list. Lists the subscriber is already on are marked with a check.
To remove a subscriber from a list, open their detail page and click the x on the list chip.
Rename or delete a list
Open the menu on the list's chip:
- Rename list changes the name and description.
- Delete list removes the list and all of its membership records. The subscribers themselves are not deleted; they just leave the list. A confirmation modal shows how many memberships will be removed before you commit.
Lists are for targeting, not for consent status. Someone who unsubscribes stays on their lists but is skipped on every send, so you never need to clean lists manually for compliance.
